Peter is the CEO for Greater MSP, the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Regional Economic Development Partnership.

He works with hundreds of public and private sector stakeholders to develop the economic growth strategy for a region comprising 16 counties and over 200 cities. By studying the structure of the regional economy and identifying sectors of competitive strength, Peter and his colleagues hope to attract greater investment, create new jobs and fuel growth.

A 2002 Mitchell Scholar. Peter received an MA in International Relations from Dublin City University. His thesis research examined levels of environmental consciousness in the private sector. Thanks to an internship with the Sustainable Energy Division of the Irish Department of Public Enterprise he saw how environmental policy was developed at government level and edited Ireland's submission to the UN Framework for Climate Change. After returning to the US, Peter spent seven years working on Capitol Hill as legislative director and foreign policy advisor to Congresswoman Betty McCollum of Minnesota.

Peter obtained his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University.
