Lily is Senior Director Product Management at Acera Surgical in St. Louis. Prior to that she was Strategic Programs Manager at Smith & Nephew where she worked on strategic programs and initiatives for new and innovative medical device products for joint repair applications, including both internal product development projects and external technologies. Lily is a 2006 Mitchell Scholar. She received an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Limerick. Her thesis research concentrated on vascular tissue engineering, using tubes as scaffolds upon which to seed cells in order to grow new blood vessels. Following the completion of her scholarship year, Lily attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a PhD student examining cartilage tissue engineering. Having devoted so many consecutive years to academic study and research, Lily is enjoying the challenges and the multifaceted nature of scientific endeavor in industry. Lily is particularly interested in continuing to work on solving the problem of cartilage tissue engineering, something that would represent a significant breakthrough in biomedical

engineering.
