John has returned to D.C. after serving as the Vice Consul at the US Consulate in Istanbul, during a
turbulent time in Turkey’s history As a Mitchell Scholar, John earned a Master's degree in International Studies from the University of Limerick. His research focused on international security policy — specifically EU policy on issues regarding terrorism. John was elected, and served as Deputy Director for the UL Postgraduate Student Association where he represented more than 2,000 taught and research postgraduate students. John spent a year as a California Executive Fellow in the Office of Governor Schwarzenegger. As a
Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow, John worked with the Center for Competitive Politics, a nonprofit think tank that conducts policy analysis on campaign finance proposals. John obtained an undergraduate and graduate degree in Political Science from MIT.
