Based in Chicago, Sarah is Supervisory Trial Attorney (Tax), Associate Area Counsel Large Business and International Division at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. She oversees attorney working on complex Tax Court litigation and domestic and international tax issues. She is also an adjunct professor at university of Illinois, Chicago School of Law. Sarah is a 2007 Mitchell Scholar. She received a Master's Degree in Peace and Development from the University of Limerick. Her thesis research analyzed the historical and contemporary socio-political conditions that lead to the election of several left-leaning political leaders in Latin American counties in the early part of the 21st century. At UL, Sarah was impressed by her professors' first hand knowledge of modern conflicts as several had served with UN security forces. Continuing her interest in peace and development, while at law school at Berkeley, Sarah took a number of human rights classes and worked at the school's Human Rights Clinic. Sarah very much enjoys her work with the IRS and is focused on developing the strongest possible trial skills in order to take on even bigger cases. Longer term she is interested in combining her legal and tax knowledge base to help advise small businesses and to influence future policy design. Sarah obtained her undergraduate from Ohio University.
