Victoria is a widely published writer of both fiction and poetry. Her most recent book is Homefront (University of Nevada Press, 2024), a story collection about women impacted by war. Her debut novel, Mrs. Houdini, was published by Simon & Schuster/Atria, in 2016 to critical acclaim. Her debut poetry collection, When the Men Go Off to War, was published by the Naval Institute Press in September 2015. Victoria is a 2007 Mitchell Scholar. She received a Master's Degree in Creative Writing from Trinity College Dublin, where she had the opportunity to learn from Irish writer Deirdre Madden and Irish poet Gerald Dawe. Victoria was also editor of Trinity’s 2007 annual anthology of student work. Victoria's time in Ireland inspired her to continue making writing the focus of her career. She went on to pursue an MFA in Fiction at the University of Iowa, the oldest writing program in the United States. Victoria obtained her undergraduate degree from Harvard.
