Adam is the Lead for the Congressional Affairs team for the American Academy of Dermatology in Washington, DC. Prior to that, he served as Senior Director of Congressional Affairs at National Community Pharmacists Association. Adam is a 2010 Mitchell Scholar. He received a Master's Degree in Sustainable Rural Development from Queen's University, Belfast. Having grown up in rural Alabama, Adam is passionate about the need to support and grow rural communities. His thesis research compared rural 'brain drain' problems in Alabama and Northern Ireland. He was impressed by community based development schemes in Northern Ireland such as partnering farming with windmill energy production in order to generate greater income for the farmer while also providing the local community with electricity. Adam feels a very strong commitment to public service and hopes one day to return to Alabama to take up a role in elected office or as a state legislator to help build up his local community. His combined academic and political experience means he understands what needs to be done in government to facilitate economic growth and improve the quality of life in rural communities. Adam obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama.
