Joey is SVP, Head of Global Event Strategy & Development at National Basketball Association (NBA). Before working for the NBA, he was the COO and General Counsel at The Headfirst Companies. Headfirst Companies operate: Headfirst Summer Camps, Headfirst Honor Roll Camps, and serve as the exclusive provider of youth camps for the Boston Red Sox , Chicago Cubs, Washington Nationals, New York Yankees, and Atlanta Braves. Prior to joining The Headfirst Companies, Joey was an associate with the international law firm Jones Day, where his practice focused on complex civil and criminal litigation.

A 2011 Mitchell Scholar, Joey received an LLM in Public Law from the National University of Ireland, Galway. His experience in Ireland inspired him to seek work with an international organization involved in development.

Following the completion of his studies Joey worked at the Office of Evaluation and Suspension within the World Bank, focusing on bribery and corruption investigations surrounding World Bank grants. Joey is an ardent supporter of veterans and has founded the Academy for Veterans and served as a law clerk with the National Veterans Legal Services Program to ensure governments honors their commitment to veterans by guaranteeing they are provided the benefits they earned through their service.

Joey obtained his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University.
