Derick served as the Chief Operating Officer at Quixote Studios, where he was charged with driving overall business growth and leadership of the firm's Studios, Operations, M&A, Analytics, Construction, and Shared Services teams. During Derick's tenure at Quixote Studios, EBITDA grew more than 5x and the company sold for $360M. Variety named Derick one of "Hollywood's New Leaders" in 2022. Over the past decade, Derick has established a highly successful track record as an operator in private equity-backed services businesses. Derick joined Quixote Studios from Production Resource Group (PRG), where he served as the Chief Operating Officer of PRG’s entertainment division ($300M annual revenue). There Derick orchestrated one of the sector’s all-time largest mergers, combining PRG’s entertainment division with VER. Derick began his career in media and technology as a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group. He has also worked as an assistant to former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and as a published research physicist. In his spare time, Derick sits on the Board of Directors of the National Hemophilia Foundation. Derick holds an MBA from Stanford University, an MSc from the University of Ulster, and a BA from Georgetown University.
