Betsy is a law school student at Temple University. Having worked as a teacher at Title I public schools, a bookseller at an iconic LGBTQ store, and as a tutor for immigrant students, Betsy has devoted much of her time to education and helping disempowered communities. Betsy is a 2012 Mitchell Scholar. She received a Master's Degree in Intercultural Studies from University College Dublin. For her thesis, she presented a critical analysis of the 2010 Intercultural Education Strategy and evaluated how effective the Irish Department of Education was in translating the strategy's stated goals into practical activity to address challenges for migrant students. Betsy also interned at the Immigrant Council where she supported the work of the council's Integration Manager as well as helping to implement a professional mentoring program for immigrant students in five secondary schools. Betsy obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia.
