Katie is a Staff Attorney at Legal Aid of West Virginia where she handles civil legal matters for low-income West Virginians and focuses on family law issues for victims of domestic violence. She is committed to working for the public interest in West Virginia. Katie is a 2012 Mitchell Scholar. She received an MA in Anglo Irish Literature and Drama from University College Dublin. Her thesis examined contemporary women's writing from both Ireland and Appalachia. She looked at how artists in both places made landscape such an important feature of their personal stories and how they interpreted the world. While in Ireland Katie enjoyed studying Beckett and seeing his work performed. Katie obtained her undergraduate degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and a law degree from WVU law school.
