Emily has been made Partner at The Westly Group, a Bay Area VC which partners with early-stage entrepreneurs. Prior to Westly, she was the Director of Strategy and Business Development at Powerhouse, a solar cleantech incubator in the Bay Area. Prior to that, she was in the Obama White House as the Senior Director in Cabinet Affairs where she covered the energy, environment and climate portfolio. A 2014 Mitchell Scholar, Emily received an MA in Higher Education from the Dublin Institute of Technology. Towards the end of her Mitchell year, she served as a research associate at the Dublin Institute of Technology’s Higher Education Policy Research Unit, helping to write a 2014 report conducted in association with the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) International Association of Universities regarding the impact of the economic crisis on higher education globally. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona.
