Community

Kat is now the Program Director, Social Innovation Initiatives and Centri Tech Foundation. Seeing digital advancement as a civil right and that, for everyone to fulfill their aspirations and thrive, an inclusive digital economy is required. The foundation leverages technology and community development resources to promote shared prosperity. Prior to that, she was the Deputy Director of Libraries Without Borders .

Kat described her year in Northern Ireland as “unparalleled” because of the accessibility she was afforded to people and networks in areas of business, law, and government. She’s says that the reputation of the Mitchell Scholarship, and the Scholars that came before her, opened these doors of opportunity. People and organizations – such as Citigroup, local non-profits, and policymakers - were always available to talk and network, and more importantly, they were excited to work with her. Kat is confident that she couldn’t get the same level of exposure she experienced in Northern Ireland in a graduate program in the U.S.

A 2015 Mitchell Scholar, Kat obtained an LLM in Gender, Conflict and Human Rights Law at the Transitional Justice Institute at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown.

Kat obtained her undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and an MA at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
