Medicine/Healthcare

Lillian Jin is a Resident Physician at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She received her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine where she was the inaugural Mount Sinai-GLG Global Health Scholar. She hopes to work as a physician and as an advocate for global health equity. While in New York, she interned at UNICEF. Ireland was a particularly special place for Lillian to develop her interest in global health, and to build on her past experiences working in subSaharan Africa, because of its postcolonial history, which contains many parallels to the independence struggle of many countries in the

Global South. Exposure to Ireland’s health care system offered her a comparative understanding of health systems, which will make her a better advocate for health care reform nationally and internationally. A 2015 Mitchell Scholar, Lillian received a MPH in International Public Health/International Health from University College Dublin. Lillian obtained her undergraduate degree from Columbia University.
