Miranda is the Director at the Kansas Alliance for Wellness in Kansas City, Kansas. Prior to that, she served as the Special Assistant to the President at The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation, a national not-for-profit organization that teaches and coaches people and organizations to solve pressing problems and change how communities work together.
She was a 2018 Mitchell Scholar and obtained an MA in Social Policy.
Concerned with issues related to food insecurity, Miranda served as the Chair of the Junction City Food Policy Council, which advises the City Commission on matters related to the local food system. She also co-founded of Live Well Geary County, which works to close “food gaps” by providing local families access to healthy, affordable food. As a college senior, she served as the Director of a student-led organization that provides food to elementary students during weekends and holidays.
Miranda obtained an undergraduate degree in Sociology/Communication Studies from Hastings College and an MA in Communications Studies from Kansas State University.
