Matthew Wigler, from Long Island, New York, is a J.D. candidate at Stanford Law School and a LLM candidate in European Union and International Business Law at the University of Vienna. At law school, he serves on the Stanford Law Review as a member of Articles Committee and is Co-President of the Stanford Jewish Law Students Association and the Stanford Law Democrats. He is a Jean Monet European Union Law Research Fellow and a Salzburg Cutler Fellow in in International Law. This past summer, he interned with the U.S. Department of Justice at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. Before starting law school, Wigler was the Strategic Communications Program Manager at Bloom Energy, a green energy company and taught Politics and English at England’s Eton College as an Annenberg Fellow. As a Mitchell Scholar, he studied International Politics at Trinity College Dublin. Prior to that, he was a Political Science major at Stanford University. During his internship with the State Department in 2017, Wigler worked with diplomats at the US Mission to the United Nations to expand the sanctions regime targeting North Korea. Wigler served as an undergraduate student senator at Stanford.
