From Eustis, Florida, Becca is a current JD candidate at Georgetown Law in the National Security Specialization Program. She attended New York University for her undergraduate degree in Social and Cultural Analysis and was the first Mitchell scholar selected from NYU. During her Mitchell year, she studied Gender, Globalisation, and Rights at the National University of Ireland, Galway. While in Galway, Becca served as class representative in NUIG's Student Union, played volleyball for the Irish National Team, and worked for the global venture capital firm SOSV. In 2018, Becca co-founded Chess for Girls, a 20,000-member organization that empowers girls across New York City through chess. She also taught inmates at Rikers Island, helping them earn chess qualifications so that they could improve their hiring prospects upon release. As a law student, she has worked for the Fair Labor Association, Clifford Chance, and served as a Research Assistant to Professor Todd Huntley. Her current work considers the role of international law in detainee interrogations.
