Tawreak “Ty” Gamble-Eddington is a J.D. candidate at Yale Law School. He is also a Commissioner on the Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ+ Youth. He is planning for an eventual career at the intersections of law and minority advocacy, Ty studied Race, Ethnicity, Conflict at Trinity College Dublin as a Mitchell Scholar and graduated with a degree in Political Science and History from Union College in Schenectady, New York. At Union, Ty was President of the Black Student Union, President of Union Pride, founder of the Marginalized View, and part of the local chapter of My Brother's Keeper (President Obama's mentoring program), which built space to work with disadvantaged  local students. A resident of Springfield, Massachusetts, Ty was also actively engaged in state politics as the Political Director of The Young Democrats of Massachusetts Black Caucus. Outside of the USA, Ty worked abroad with homeless populations in Argentina, Holocaust survivors in Poland, and migrants in Spain and Ireland. Ty’s work and research centers on amplifying marginalized voices and holding states accountable for infringements of minority rights not only locally but nationally and internationally.” Ty also completed an MPhil in Politics at Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship.
